Hi tds,

What forum would you suggest this be posted on?

"Post your own recordings to get comments from other members."  This seemed to be the most appropriate forum to me.

Best, John :)

"Post your own recordings to get comments from other members."

is it ur playing? and err..your photo?

the luvly photo can easily belong to a fashion/model forum. the music, however pretty, may find better supporters in a pop music forum perhaps?

tds,

What criterion do you use to differentiate between serious music and pop music?

The picture; an idiosyncrasy of mine. I tend associate music with the visual arts.

Quite lovely, as the title suggests.  Your music is picturesque.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

tds,

I use the term "serious music" as opposed to the term "classical", which some associate with a certain era of serious music.

I'm really interested in how people determine whether a piece of music belongs in the "serious" realm or "pop" realm.

Is it complexity, form, length, chord structure, or just a certain aura conveyed to the listener?

I just find it interesting that throughout history, certain composers weren’t considered serious composers at first, but later quite the contrary.

Best, John :)

Where in the forum rules is written that you're not allowed to post pop music here? :-\
Quite nice, John. Is that your gf on the pic? ;)

I wish PW! Though I bet she's high maintenance.

Thanks for listening PW, though I'm not convinced this tune lies in the "Pop" domain. Hmm...

Not that it matters. I prefer my music being popular. Bethoven's "Fur Elise"" must be considered "Pop". ;D

I didn't categorize it so, I just asked where in the forum rules is written etc. I just listen, I don't care about categories  :)

Hi Ganymed!

The sheet music isn't available yet for this one. Not sure if & when my publisher will make the sheet music available. Sometimes they'll just use the track as is for background music in film.

All I have is a very sloppy original manuscript. If he doesn't print sheet music, I'll do it here at home eventually.

Thanks for your interest.
