chat room----are you there or not?
on: March 02, 2009, 06:36:52 PM
I don't know if you happen to notice this lately, I have been seeing a name in the chat room with the (BRB)  or (AWAY)  or (BUSY), however, the name remains there for a period of time and so whenever someone enters and wants to chat, no response.  So then what is the purpose of the chat room  to leave our names in there and don't chat?   ::)  I can see the need for the BRB, etc, while there are members in the chat room, if a member needs to be away or doing something.

I understand what you are saying.

Usually I will leave the Chat if I'm going to be away for more than 5-10 mins.

Perhaps some members fall asleep waiting.

Don't take that long to get a beer does it?

But sometimes I need to visit the Gents too.

No excuses.  Chat is a serious business.  You could move your computer or get a laptop. : :P Or if you're done with coffee, you could find a new use of the can... ::)

Sometimes we are actually still at the computer, just doing other things while signed into chat. Occasionally we may look at the chat to see if anything interesting is happening so we stay signed in just in case something riveting shows up.
