Last name: Not typing it here.
that's right. we here at piano street are always looking for someone to hunt down. wise choice my friend.has anyone else gotten to the point of reality where now they see things like that as a sort of.....i dunno, narcissism? im probably just nuts. cuz, well, oh we got your last name, lets filter through everyone in the world, and find you, just to do what? pluck the strings on your piano i guess.
This form is too long.If everybody fills out the form for the sake of it, but nobody cares to read all of them because they're too long then that's not helpful for the thread. Why not be creative, give any kind of information you think defines you.
Wow, nice to meet you csharpminor!
Of course, term, not everyone has to follow a format. But if some members want to disclose about themselves, then that's their choice. There are a lot of threads that are lengthy in this forum, but we have no control over that. It's like telling someone to shut up and that's not a polite thing to do around here. Whether the thread is helpful or not, that's up to the individual member. How about you being creative that defines you? I'd like to know.
I just made a suggestion with good intent, i'm not trying telling anybody what to do, as i try to not give personal information in threads where people give individual information by filling out standard forms. :-P
To be honest I was pretty bored when I made this topic it’s just supposed to be some very light hearted fun. If some people can’t be asked to do the form ‘coz its too long’ then that’s fine. The info on the form is trivial information so I don’t think it’s a threat to anyone’s important details. Of course I could have asked:Bank:Branch:Account number:Sort code:Card Type:Start Date: Expiry Date: Issue Number: CVN: Pin: Your Home address:Your mother’s maiden name:National insurance number:etc etc... In a Nutshell? Hmm - one of Percy Grainger's more engaging works, methinks...
Alistair, that's a particular favourite of mine. Bypassing The Warriors for now, Grainger's In Dahoney and Handel in the Strand are utterly wonderful to me.
Grainger -like Beecham- hated Elgar. Whatever. Alex Ross, music critic for 'The New Yorker' (not surprisingly being a Yank) once rated Korngold above Elgar. That is a very hard sell to me. I love Korngold, but his music -supremely well written- tends to glitter on the surface, it doesn't probe.
But I've always been suspicious of Alex Ross. He writes well of course, but some of his music reviews I've read of New York premiers seem a bit of a bluff. He's talking about music he couldn't possibly have seen the score to. I don't think his ear is that good, I'm not fooled. But he talks up a good storm, much better than I could ever do.
