Busoni for cello
on: April 19, 2009, 10:24:36 PM
Here's a tricky one - Busoni's transcription for cello and piano of Bach's Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue. It's in the Masters Music catalogue but MM is currently unavailable in the UK, and I can't find it in any libraries here. I'd be very grateful for a PDF, or indeed if someone could order a physical copy and mail it to me I'd find some way of sending the money. Many thanks in advance!

Thal old son, you're a scholar and a gentleman, and your mate Rob likewise. Many thanks indeed for that. My cellist colleague has a cello part but his ex-wife (and ex-accompanist) took the piano part....

Incidentally, I notice the page numbers start around 60, so it's clearly part of a book including something else - any idea what? I'm not sure if Busoni's entire output for cello and piano would run to that many pages!

I say old boy, judging by this Naxos CD, there is not a great deal else.

I have heard of some painful divorces before, but that is terrible. Half a bank account is bad, half a house is even worse, but taking half a score must have been unbearable.

Half of quite a lot of scores, I gather. But most of them were more easily replaceable!
