Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto and Chopin g minor Ballade

Hi, I have just started learning there works and wanted to know you tips you have on learning them. I would also love to hear what experieces you had performing or learning these works.

someone in this forum said that Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto 1 is not a problem if you have enough liszt and chopin,tchai doesnt seems to compose harsh piano pieces

and of the everyones' favourite ballade 1,its a piece of LTCL grade,

I've tried it before,I believe like other have said,this piece is not technically hard,not hard to learn,but hard to play good

Tchaikovsy maby did not compose difficul piano solo pieces, but his piano concertos are a completly different thing. Just to be able to play the 1st mvt reqires a huge amount of physical strength, and then there are so many other small things that many people miss out. it is classified as one of the most difficult piano concetos. Anarchist said that if you have enough liszt and chopin you can play it. It would be easier to play Liszt's or Chopin's piano concerto. The ballade is also a difficult piece but in my opinion it was a much more easier piece to play. Good Luck

I'm learning the Tchaik at the moment.
Pianistically, it's a pregnant dog!  It's not terribly hard in terms of notes, but it's awkward.  The 3rd movement is actually very very straightforward.
The trio is supposedly the hardest piece he wrote with piano.
