Interesting comparison.  I also listened to the Prokofiev recording which I had never heard.  In the first two, the big difference is the recording itself.  The '44 recording had a wonderful full sound to the piano with lots of harmonics.  Argerich's was very dry and typically recording studio material.  I'll have to opt for Horowitz.  The Prokofiev was really interesing.   Wonderful wonderful sound and piano tone.  Never never a harsh sound.  And I enjoyed the bridge to the coda with no stopping.  Certainly not technically up to par with the the other two, but I enjoyed it immensely.

These are both actually fairly bad.  Horowitz is dropping notes (and an entire passage of the piece) like crazy, and Argerich's has about as much emotion as my cell phone does x:

There is a recording of young Berman (don't confuse with later one). Quite different from Horowitz, but still very good stuff... Unlike some wannabes like Argerich...

Or the other one?  I have one other one which is slightly slower, and also live.  Or, are there maybe more than two?  I assume the 1956 Budapest one is the "old" one?  I happen to like the "newer" one more, but I can go ahead and upload the '56 for these guys to hear if you think they oughta D:
