I might call it progressive piano, but, you call it what you wish.

Sorry, but I couldn't get through it completely. I don't really like this quasi-genre of "progressive piano solos", for as passionate as you were with it, and with all due respect, quite frankly it's nothing but a bunch of two bit clichés strung incoherently together that you might hear in a cheap soundtrack for an 80s TV movie. It might please others, but it just doesn't work for me.

we can agree to disagree then. I think it's a very diverse, interesting and involved genre combining many elements from other genres together to form a deeper musical experience. imo.

You're sitting way too high. You'll probably get an injury if you don't fix it.
And yeah, not really "modern". It's more pop versus a guy who took some classical piano lessons 20 years ago. I don't really like it...

Well I respect what you do, it's just a different style. Not everybody plays Chopin and Mozart, and that is completely okay. I found it groovy
I agree though with pianisten, you're sitting too high.

On sitting too high, you're elbows should be level with the keyboard. Thus the arms should be parallel to the floor. As it is now, your forearms are at a 45 degree angle thereby forcibly flexing your wrists upward. This is a quick path to carpel tunnel syndrome and/or tendonitis. Rather, your wrists should be extended from the forearms naturally and neutrally. Part of playing piano is attention to practical ergonomics. To ignore it is to court a serious injury. Good luck with that!

yeah i sit too high because a chair is too low and a barstool is too high, and my keyboard stand is kinda screwed. However, some of the best musicians have some of the worst ergonomics...i promise you all, i'm not going to break an ankle or anything.
Thanks for the tips though. And it IS pop. Just because I say it is modern doesn't mean it's not also supposed to be pop...not sure where that discrepancy came from...thanks all.
