No "Ignore" feature?
on: March 12, 2010, 05:28:25 PM
I'm surprised that this forum's software apparently doesn't support an "Ignore" feature.  It would function to permit someone whom one doesn't like, or whose posts are found characteristically found unhelpful or abrasive in form or content for any reason, to be added to one's private Ignore list—and Presto!  The text of the ignored party's public posts is removed from view.

It's a fairly standard feature for message boards, and interest in it probably dates back to Usenet's killfile.  It doesn't preclude the possibility of inflammatory exchanges, but it helps.  :)

If you go to your personal profile and click on 'Personal Message Options', you will see an Ignore List window with a 'Find Members' button and 'Bob's your uncle.'

Thanks, I had overlooked that.  I was referring to a feature that blocks messages posted publicly by "ignored" users, but it's still nice to be able to block PMs.

Not sure about the other thing.  :)

Is it possible to ignore myself?

I am fed up with reading my stupid posts.

If you pulled language from a different thread to quote me here for no apparent reason, I guess it resonates for you.  Or maybe it means you're going to troll every thread in which I post?

Hey, take your pleasure where you find it.  :)

No I am just confused as to why you would make such a statement, yet start this thread.

If anyone is a flamer, it is you my friend.

Indeed, you do take pleasure wherever you can find it Use the c word again if it makes you happy.

Confused, are you?  Well, what passes you ain't for you.  Don't worry about it.

If you think I'm a flamer, that's called projection.  It can be treated.  So can the issues with anger and resentment that you manifest.

Dang, maybe you're off your meds?

Take your meds.

So you don't like the way I talk?  I suspected that all along.  Mouth-breathers tend reflexively to dislike those who speak in sentences and write in paragraphs.
