R Lipp upright piano
on: May 04, 2010, 05:41:03 AM
Hi, I just bought a new upright piano, a Richard Lipp and Sohn. I was following a forum where the R. Lipp and Sohn was discussed. I realize that most of the piano's are now made in China, but I am a beginner and liked the look of this one, and it was as much as I could afford. I like to practice on it and am still having beginner lessons, so an expensive one was out of the question. In any case, it is a far cry from the keyboard I was learning on. So, any thoughts about the new version?

Richard Lipp and Sohn is a small brand ,u 'd better choose the others brand , most of the piano's are now made in China, that's true , as i know from this forum ,hailun(Helen)made in ningbo city china and pearl river and Ritmuller(this brand manufactured in pearl river),they both are fine and cheap, can satisfy what u need , choose big brand ,because big brand 's afersale sevice are good then small's, and big brand are use good materials. japanese brand ,i advise u choose KAWAI

Hi, I know Richard Lipp & Sohn (Stuttgart) because I have 2 of them: 1 x 1910 6'7" Medium Grand, and 1 x 1930s Upright Grand. They are wonderful pianos with solid base and sweet rounded sounds. The actions are excellent, and as good as Steinways for some pianist friend I have. However, after the WWII, the brandname ownership changed several times. It is currently manufactured by Hunday/Young Chang pianos. I do not know how good they are.
