Levels

I'm a fairly competant pianist for the amount of time i have been playing and was wondering about the levels system for downloading music. Do the levels correspond to Grades (level 8 = grade 8 standard) or are they formed in a completely different way?

Which system of levels?  For downloading from where?

There's no standardized grading system recognized worldwide, and there may be inconsistencies among those that do exist.  In the U.S., where there's no national board that establishes standards for curricula, exams and diplomas, classification of music by difficulty is especially arbitrary.
What passes you ain't for you.
