Concert for old ppl
on: August 21, 2010, 04:08:01 PM
Hi.

In a few weeks, I'll have a concert in a church. I've been there a few times before, and there's so far only been older people in the audience. I need music for a bit more than 30 minutes (It's a very "unofficial" concert, so single movements works fine.. and preferably Chopin, for obvious reasons), and this is my idea so far:

Chopin: Grand Valse Brillante op 18
Etude op 10 no 9, op 25 no 1 and 7
(Maybe Nocturne op 9/2)

Schubert/Liszt: Stänchen

Mozart: Sonata no 6, mov 1+2

I've always had some kind of idea in my head that old people are extra fond of Bach, but I really don't know :P

i don't think seniors are as obsessed with the things they know as we believe them to be
rock there world with strange new sounds as well as some familiar pieces they might have played/heard as youngsters

:P I think I found something for you!
Why don't you play for them Liszt's Funerailles(dedicated to CHOPIN)?
If you need just over 30 minutes time, then play it 3-4 times!
I am sure that they will love it and put it at their funeral.
muahahahahahahahaha

Hmm, I don't think we have the same sense of humour...

Anyhow, the lesson was yesterday, so it's done already.

I always get asked to play something from the 30s-70s. I know its not classical, but they love that sorta thing.
