Piano Street Magazine:
The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

Recital
on: August 25, 2010, 02:24:58 AM
Hi,

I am a second year university student, I am in Bachelor of Music program, piano performance.

Unfortunately my school only let official recitals starting 3rd year.
I thought - life is short, I want to do it while I can.

So since I am doing recital on my own, I pretty much can pick any program I want for the recital.

At first I was hoping to do a "Ravel Concert", since I am a huge fan of his.

I don't want my recital to be boring and monotonous, so I would like to play contrasting pieces by Ravel.
I have couple pieces in mind but I just need different opinions on how various works could be even if written by the same composer.

Thanks
 =)

Lol Gaspard de la nuit it :o is too difficult :o It requires so much physical and technical effort that it is not the best idea for a recital! Why don't you try Ravel's Miroirs instead???
P.s i am a second year university student too! you can e-mail me of course at [email protected]
