What Bach Chorale does Wagner use in Parsifal?
on: November 18, 2010, 05:53:00 PM
I just read that the 'affirmation of faith' motif, that immediately follows the Dresden Amen in the Parsifal Prelude is taken from a Bach prelude. Can anyone tell me which one it is and/or recommend a good recording of it? I'd love to get the music too but that should be easier when I know the title...
I'm a beginner/soon to be intermediate piano player getting a huge kick out of playing The Wedding March because of the harmonies and chord constructions! If anyone knows another source of [easy-ish] Wagner piano transcriptions I would love that too, otherwise I'll just keep noodling away at my Bach and Mozart pieces.
Thank you. May music touch your soul & lift your spirits and/or your fingers do what you ask them to!
