chopin-liszt songs!
on: November 27, 2010, 12:41:47 AM
hie veryone.  i have individual scores of a few of the chopin-liszt polish songs, which i like very much and plan to perform in march.
i got a recording of ruth slenczynska playing, which i also like, but it deviates a lot from the score, esp. in "My Joys" where she does a very extended cadenza not in my copy.

my question is is there a later version by liszt with more stuff added in, or was she just embellishing?  a lot of the embelllishments are really nice, like more developed arpeggios in left hands, more jumping around octaves, some runs are extended, etc. (this is in a few of the songs not just my joys).  the cadenza is a little redundant for me, but whatever.

just curious!
