I've seen that video too - absolutely makes my day. The spontaneity and pure joy here are truly inspiring... many musicians I know would benefit from emulating this toddler and getting in touch with their love for music ;D Not to mention the level of talent!
It all happens on Discworld, where greed and ignorance influence human behavior... and perfectly ordinary people occasionally act like raving idiots.

A world, in short, totally unlike our own.

But what if this wasn't such a little kid? what if he was like 12 or even a lot more? Would it still be cool and cute and funny? or would it just look stupid then ?  :-\  I don't know :)  :P

Well, of course, his age has a lot to do with it.  I mean this kid is how old?  He's making movements of a seasoned conductor.  I'm sure he watched some videos of someone conducting Beethoven, but at the same time, you can see that these movements are not copied.  The movement, itself, yes, perhaps, but WHAT it expresses is completely genuine.  I mean this kid digs Beethoven - that comes across loud and clear!  Listen to him at the beginning when the crescendo starts:  he says something like "here it comes!"  And, yes, if an older child started picking his nose with his left hand while conducting with his right, it wouldn't be as funny!  ;D

I just asked because I sometimes start doing something like conducting too when I listen to music in my room (specially with my headphones on) and then sometimes I don't see my mum come in and she's standing there and watching me and then she starts laughing and then I'm embarrassed  :-[  ::)  :P

That kid is going to put a lot of conductors out of a job.  I only wish that half the students at my school conducted with that kind of vigor and conviction.

I wish the conductor of my school's orchestra could be half as inspiring.
