Ah excellent! A Kapustin fan!

I heard Hamelin playing 3 of the jazz concert etudes and I'm going to get that cd next week.  I can't wait to hear some more of his stuff.

Lets get this thread started up again!!!

Kapustin rocks, my teacher revealed his unique jazzlike music to me a few weeks ago!

Has anyone been able to play his second sonata?  More specifically the fourth movement?!  It's crazy but I can't stop listening to it!
Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2

That guy is soo cool!

I'm working on the Toccatina from the Concert Études op. 40. Haven't come cross a contemporary composer with such a great instinct for writing for the piano; the notes are just right under your fingers! He's really got something there, mixing different styles of jazz with the harmonic, formal and contrapuntical complexity of "classical" music.

Kapustin rocks!!!  8)

Just one, question about Kapustin...Where can you get the scores? I've searched around but nothing. If anyone has them on PDF that would be great too. [email protected]
Thanks.
