Death of Peter Lieberson reported

This is very sad news, especially if you remember his wife, Lorraine Hunt Lieberson, the great(est) mezzo soprano, died of cancer at a young age in 2006. Listen to the "Neruda Songs" if you can, focusing not only on the ravishing settings and Lorraine's voice, but the power of the text.

Sadly, outside of a few people, I doubt many people will care about this. Lieberson was not one of my favorite composers, but I appreciated his work and this is indeed something sad. I will go back and listen to some of his works now, after years of putting it off.
