Need to know the name/composer of a piece
on: June 04, 2011, 09:16:37 PM
When I was taking piano lessons 30+ years ago, my teacher lent me some music to learn.  It was comprised of several short pieces, each probably a page or less.  I don't remember whether they had titles, but each was associated with a specific color, with the tempo and style appropriate to that color.  For example, while blue sounded light and airy, black was slow and somber.  Of course, after I finished learning it, I had to return the music to my teacher.  Now I would like to have it for my own children, but I have no idea what it is called or who composed it.  Does this sound familiar to anyone--perhaps some piano teachers out there?  TIA.

Maybe "Sketches in Color" by Robert Starer?
