Fingering for theatrical or practical purposes?

I believe some fingerings are set for theatrical purposes insted of prcatical purposes. as you may notice its not always the most obvious fingerings the ones youre suposed to use.
I want to know your opinion about this topic.
And also I want to know if the composer set the fingerings, or the editor do it?
PS: I tend to use to much of the less obvious fingerings because of habit to other pieces,am I doing right?
Example: I do the 3 first notes of "Fantasie impromptu"(right hand) with 3,4,3 fingers because in the "Valse 14(Chopin)" the trill was intend to be performed with those fingers.
Im i doing right?

Don't worry about the fingerings noted in the book. Think of them merely as suggestions as everyone's hand is different. What may be comfortable for you may be uncomfortable for someone else.
That does not mean to ignore the fingering written in, but if the fingering is truly uncomfortable for you, the piece is either too difficult or you just need to find a way that works for you.
Who wrote the fingering in depends on the editor and composer. In regards to Chopin, he typically did offer fingering suggestions. Editions like Paderewski will note when they use Chopin's intended fingering. In some editions, all edited material will be in italics or parenthesis, while composer marks will not be.
