From sax to piano
on: June 17, 2011, 04:26:20 AM
Hi everyone!

I have recently decided to take up seriously playing piano but don't know where and what I should start practicing. I have always loved music and have played sax for about ten years now so I can read music but am not entirely used to reading chords and music in the bass cleff. I am comfortable with most of my scales and can play all major and minor scales on piano but could improve my speed and dynamic eveness (if that makes sense).  My main desire at the moment though is to improve my ability to read chords and phrases in the bass cleff and to be able to better coordinate my left and right hands. I have mostly played jazz and funk on sax but really love classical and am looking to get a grounding in that on piano before i start branching out.

Is there any pieces and/or technical exercises anyone can recommend?
