Amateur competitions
on: August 22, 2004, 11:26:34 PM
Just testing the waters:
I've seen Amateur competitions or festivals advertised in a few places: Boston, the Van Cliburn, the Rocky Mountain, Tokyo, Paris...
Is this enough? How many of you would be interested for yourself or someone else in an amateur piano competition/festival in Portland, Oregon?
By amateur what is meant is not lousy players, but those activated by love of the instrument, not hope of fame or fortune.
Prizes--minimal; air-fare and lodging--non-existent.
Thanks!
