Use your dream.
on: September 11, 2011, 11:51:40 AM
Hi everyone, I discovered something recently, when learning a new piece of music, our dreams can be very useful in helping us find a solution to pianistic problems. Try it, just before going to bed, ask yourself to solve a particuler pianistic problem, it could be anything. You might just find the answer when you're up in the morning.
It happened to me recently, I saw myself playing this section from a Haydn Sonata which I had trouble with. When I woke in the morning I went to my piano and played it the way I did in my dream, as is by magic I found the right choice of fingers to use.
Good luck

your subconscious tries to help you solve the problems you give it. our perceptual side often is much wiser than our programmed left brain. Using your dream is a wonderful way to put it. Nice to meet a healthy musician here.
Keep going on this path--it leads to amazing places.
