Opinions on Brahms' music and its so-called 'unpianistic' qualities?

The only piano pieces that get airplay anymore are Concerto #2, +, and Variations on a Theme by Haydn, two pianos 4 hands + though it is mostly played orchestrally.  I'll never get an orchestra as backup. I  have been trying to get someone to play Var on a Theme for twenty years, but I don't pay enough. Now she lost the score. I don't practice it anymore. Now last month I found My Favorite Brahms Van Cliburn LP at the Goodwill.  Rhapsody in B min Op 79 and Waltz in Ab Op 39.  Cool! Brahms I can play on piano by myself.  Who cares if they never play it on the radio, that is why I have a piano. Hungarian Rhapsodies are great, but I'll have to wait for Liszt to write the transcription.  Might be a long wait.
