can my friend be a pianist?
on: October 18, 2011, 12:49:23 PM
I'll tell you about one of my friends. She has started piano when she was 4-years old. Now she's 13 years old.She goes in 8-th grade. She plays this program :
Liszt, concert etude "La Leggierezza"
Bach, Prelude and Fugue E-minor
Mozart, Fantasia in C-minor (K.475)
Chopin, Ballade no.4
For a year she will play Chopin's E-minor concerto (no.1)
Can she be a concert pianist?

If she has the desire to, then why not?   There are tons of amazing players out there, so becoming a famous concert pianist might be a longshot, but she could still be an amazing player that makes a living at it.    It's all about desire and talent.   Sounds like she's got the talent.
Currently learning:
Chopin Prelude Op. 28, no. 15
Schubert Sonata in A Major, D.959: Allegretto

It's typically based on how well people play, not what they play. No reason to rule it out, but there's not any terribly insightful information that can be given in response to a list of music.

She has a potential, but then again, you have to look at the many others out there who are like her. I'm not saying she can't be a concert pianist.
Funny? How? How am I funny?
