Your Everyday Warmup Routine/Pieces

What do you play at every practice session?

For me, I like to have a set routine of short etudes, slightly modified for practical purposes.
This helps me not only warm up but also keep a gauge on progress by playing the same identical thing day in day out.
My basic routine is as follows..
1. warm hands in water
2. gentle stretching
3. wiggling fingers to encourage blood flow for a couple minutes
-------
4. Chopin 10/1 at moderate tempo with left hand doubling right hand and octave lower.
5. Chopin 25/11 right hand alone at fast tempo, followed by mirror inversion for left hand.
6. Chopin 10/2 same as above.
7. Optional extras... 25/6 plus LH version , and if my session on this day will not have much octave practice...25/10 will be included.

Then I get on with fresh stuff.

i don't really 'warm up ' anymore, i found that it was forcing me to rely too heavily being warm before i could/would play, i found in the 'real' world it isn't terribly practical many times you can warm up before a peformance and there will be some delay beforee you head out, then what? or at competitions you could wait an hour before your turn, or any number of other scenarios, so i figured i had better learn to get good at just sitting down and playing cold.

that said if i have very rapid passages that must be worked on (at least in practice) i will usually play them slowly at first to reinforce the digital kinetics.

or i'll just read through whatever etude is in rotation as part of my solo rep at the time.

i need to learn to do this though, this is way cool

For me it is so simple :

Day 1: scales, contrary motion and double octaves

Song 1 15mins
song 2 15mins
song 3 15mins

Day 2: arpeggios, diminished and dominant 7ths

song 4,5,6 15mins each. Can't be bothered spending more time. On weekends probably I will add in some sight reading.

I never really do anything to warm up. Sometimes I might work on scales, arpeggios etc. if Certificate of Merit is coming up, because that is part of the testing. But otherwise, I just begin playing my pieces without any preparations.

The only thing I do every, single day, since over a year (though I lapsed for a month or two last summer) is Scales and Arpeggios, in that order, for about 15-20 mins each, around the circle of fifths in the mode of the day.

Then I go into something with lots of finger work, like the Appassionata 3rd movement, for awhile it was, now it's been the 3rd variation of the ABEGG variations.  Those both generally favor the RH though.  Sometimes I'll go from scales and arpeggios to 2-3 Chopin Etudes.  Generally, whatever comes after scales and arpeggios tends to hold that place everyday for at least a month or so.  I also really like to do my initial vocal warmups between scales and arpeggios, and then my secondary vocal warmups after arpeggios.  Overall, that makes me feel pretty ready to go.  Then I start in with both vocal and piano repertoire.

Ten minutes on the Virgil Practice Clavier first thing in the morning and last thing at night is all the "warm-up" or "practice" I do. Once I am at the piano it's all music; I'm getting on in years now and life's too short.

At the beginning of each day, I'll play through/review a few pieces of old repertoire. I keep a list of the pieces I know (which at the moment is embarrassingly small due to extreme laziness over the past year), and just work my way down the list in order, so as not to let anything be forgotten. That is my only warm up before beginning to learn new material.

I don't practice scales/arpeggios outside of actual pieces. Ever.

I do a pretty tedious stretching routine and pinch blood into my hands. It takes about 15 minutes but it cured my tendonitis.
Then I play sonata pathetique 1st movement, a chopin prelude, then whatever jazz standard I'm working on and try to incorporate any new chord change patterns into it.

Sometimes I start with chord change exercises.

49410enrique has a valid point that never truly occurred to me the one time i performed cold it was a nightmare but i digress.  I usually warm up with the first schmitt exercise. then the first dohnanyi exercise and a little hanon depends on my mood

Most days I warm up with Scott Joplin rags.  Magnetic, Paragon, Maple Leaf.  They have a lot of octaves and get my 61 year old muscles loose for something harder. Great at burning sugar/starches off after dinner, too.  I actually sweat and pant a little on these. 
Scales & arpeggios, my, my what a bore.
