Hornswogglers?
on: January 29, 2012, 01:52:00 PM
In a different thread Birba asked who Leonard was -and he said that he posted something but then it was removed - he went on to speculate that it might have been a banned member trying to return with a new moniker. So my question is -who exactly has been guilty of posting audio performances which were actually played by someone else?

I don't get why someone would do this anyhow - cos what benefit is it to them? Yes they can deceive us into thinking they are the next Pollini -but the last laugh is on them surely?

If there have been hornswogglers on PianoStreet -who were they? How long did they get away with it?
When a search is in progress, something will be found.

I only know of Kellyc aka ladypianist, becky,  and rogers?. Kellyc got away with it for a few months. As she/he posted recordings Kellyc was discovered to be fake.
I don't believe guy5 to be a hornswoggler because I visited his site and the etudes were in his repertoire. Besides, he is a professional pianist so it is very hard to say the recordings are fake.

Just search for "hoax" and you'll find them.
