VIDEO: LISZT Reminiscences de Don Juan - LIVE
on: February 02, 2012, 01:43:30 PM

"Ghraichy plays with great finesse and power [...] his Liszt was fiery and tender and humorous and exciting, everything such a piece should be. I'd seen and heard Lang Lang perform it, and while it was entertaining under this famous pianist's hands, it did suffer a little bit from his tendency to grandstand; the wit was lost.

It wasn't under Ghraichy"

It certainly was better than Lang Lang, he plays like a baby. Such confidence in your playing, GFDS! I would have been bored out if you uploaded the whole thing but I was entertained as you posted this short clip. Keep them coming...

Thank you! I wouldn't allow myself saying that Lang Lang plays like a baby, his talent is irrevocable, but music under his fingers does suffer of a bit of "Kitsch".

Concerning the "upload", indeed, DG's remiscences is not a piece you watch online. Its wit is in the seduction game when performed live on the stage. That's why I only uploaded my favorite part, this 3 minutes' video.
