Rachmaninov - Prélude op 23 # 5
on: April 04, 2012, 12:14:16 AM
Hi to everyone! Today I'd like to share with you my performance of this hard piece.

I have worked this piece for 4 months and I love it. The last part is magic: it has a force and an overflowing passion, and it has too a very melancholy part where the musical expressivity is a very important element.

Well, without delay here you have my performance of this piece from the musical genius Sergei Rachmaninov.

Lot of wrong notes there  ;D but don't worry, most people will get too distracted by the absolutely gorgeous boy playing the piano  ;)

Anyway, for a live performance is really good, I'd only wish the was more of a contrast between the outer and middle sections, you should check your dynamics.

Best wishes,
Laura

Yes...  ;D But it's hard to keep concentrate and not making mistakes in a live perfomance xD

Totally agree with you, I need to check my dynamics in some places.

Thank you very much for your comment,Laura!! :)

Whoa!!!!  Slow down!!!!  It sounds like you want to play it in time to the metronome!  Follow the line and don't do those leaps from the rh to the lh and back again like you absolutely have to neet a schedule!  You have the technic and the temperament to play this piece with bravura.  You play the middle part with such artistry and we can hear the duet between the left and the right hand beautifully.  Now think of this same "pathos" when your playing the march.  Enjoy that grand crescendo and reach deep into the keyboard.  That grandeur will come out if you aren't worried about playing it in time!

I am also amazed by you and your playing... ::) Yes...Oh and keep a good tempo and try not to rush some sections. Also, look at the dynamics markings.
