Video - Chopin Etude Op10 No9
on: May 17, 2012, 09:41:46 AM
When I record myself playing from memory I trip. I play from memory without recording myself, I don't trip a lot. I decide to just record myself playing with the music

I surprised myself that I can play it that quick though slower than Valentina Lisitsa.

Enjoy and all comments welcome.

Hi danhuyle,

I find that sitting in front to two stereo microphones can be daunting, even when I believe that I know the music.  I would actually be less self-conscious in front of a live audience.  Doing recording sessions can be challenging at times.  But the good news is that with perseverance, one can often end up with a fine recording.

I believe your etude is coming along very well indeed.  I've not played it, but I know it's a hard piece to master.  Your playing is quite expressive throughout which is important.  While a Chopin etude is a "study", it's also a concert piece.  You try to get the most out of it, and succeed.  Keep up the good work!
