Will be grateful for any comment on one or both these pieces which Enzo will be playing in a solo recital in late August.  We apologize for the "CUT/EDIT" we had to make at 4:27 of La Campanella when Enzo's teacher "interrupted". Obviously the playing requires polishing especially in the frenzied endings of both pieces and it is our hope that you can help us.

These videos were during a practice session held in an empty Abelardo Hall at the University of the Philippines last week using a Canon HD camera and a ZOOM4HN audio recorder. The lighting was poor at that time.

MANY THANKS!

Loved your Hungarian Rhapsody #6, Enzo!  First time I've ever heard it but it's gorgeous.  Loved the charming playfulness, followed by the deep yearning middle section. The melody there reminded me of a sorrowful song called "If you go away.."  Does anyone else hear the same thing?  Anyway, I loved it and felt the sadness and longing in that section.  The finale was a fantastic show of virtuosity and brilliance!  Bravo, Enzo!

Enjoyed the La Campanella very much!  Love Enzo's relaxed style.  Everything looks and sounds relaxed from your hands to your body to the sparkling notes you produce. Love the way you take your time through this piece so it doesn't sound breathless like I hear it played so often.  There are thunderous moments of course, when it calls for it, but otherwise, you give an incredibly clear, sparkling, brilliant performance!

Thanks for the privilege!

La Campanella is good. After that, be creative with it and let it grow over time.

I heard the extra pedal at the beginning of La Campanella, now it's a terrific performance. Congratulations!

I would love to listen to Enzo play Bach. Has he by any chance recorded a video playing Bach?

Hello David!!!

Thanks so much .... every time you "like" one of his performances, I know Enzo feels good about it.  It has become clear to me that aside from specific constructive comments it is also as important among pianists to have some degree of approval or liking for their performance. THANKS!!

Hello Choo!!!

I am always in anticipation at the way you visualize the pieces you listen to, not only in Enzo's posts but also with others.... it is so vivid and just goes to show the richness of your feelings.
"If you go away" .... is beautiful and I hope we refer to the same tune with the following lyrics:

If you go away on this summer day,
Then you might as well take the sun away;
All the birds that flew in the summer sky,
When our love was new and our hearts were high;
When the day was young and the night was long,
And the moon stood still for the night bird's song.
If you go away, if you go away, if you go away.

But if you stay, I'll make you a day
Like no day has been, or will be again;
We'll sail the sun, we'll ride on the rain,
We'll talk to the trees and worship the wind.

MY!!!  you are romantic!!!! ;D ;) :)  THANKS!!!!

Hello  danhuyle, scherzo123 and austinarg!!!

Thank you for liking the way he plays ... I know your "approval" always makes him feel better that he is on the right track of learning.  As I wrote to David above (rachfan) that aside from specific constructive comments it is also as important among pianists to have some degree of approval or liking for their performance. THANKS a ZILLION!!

Emill:

Thanks for your kind words and that song was EXACTLY what I was referring to!  Do you hear it too when Enzo plays the middle section?  Brings tears to my eyes!  So heart tugging!   :'( :'( :'(

I am sending him positive thoughts to win the competition in Singapore!  Go Enzo!!  You can do it!
