I though it was "Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis"

I don't think medical/scientific terms count.  They have a rather teutonic overexhuberence.

I really like John Keats...there are a few other poets I llike a lot, Wilfred Owen, for one. I'm not a huge poetry reader though. I used to try to do a ton of things. I used to read poetry, write poetry, draw, write stories, read books, write music for my band, write music for solo piano, become well-versed in film, program...all kinds of things. Then I just sorta realized that I couldn't do it all and do it well. So now, I mainly play piano and do school work.

Wikipedia says its the longest word to appear in the oxford english dictionary.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis

Though I do agree with you on principle. Oxford are clearly on prescription narcotics.

I'm about 20 pages away from finishing A Game of Thrones. I have been in this position for weeks. I don't think I've touched it since I got back from Norway...just not enough quiet time. But when I while I was away from my two biggest time drains (piano and computer), I read through 700 pages in about 2 days. Amazing book. I imagine I'd be more motivated if I hadn't already watched the two seasons of the HBO series currently out, so I know exactly what's going to happen. The books are tons better than the show though, and once I get to new material with the third one, it's gonna get awesome.

Of course not!

How much of math that you learn in high school do you actually use in real life?

I can't imagine any scenario when I'll have to balance trig equations or use limits.

Unless if I'm in like a science or engineering field.

As someone who had lived a bit longer (although not sure how real) may I make a suggestion....Don't try to use what you learn in your psychology class in real life  ;D

Forgot the question...
Q: Do you think I'm lazy:
The light bulb in my bedroom went busted Sunday evening. Changing it would require getting one from the kitchen, removing the lampshade (not difficult), change the bulb and put the shade back. My bedroom has been without light for 4 days and it's a bit complicated after it gets dark outside. Every night I promise myself that I will change it tomorrow :)

I guess not :)

Describe your ideal day.

About 1 year ago:
Nothing to do, don't need to go out, don't need to dress or comb my hair (like I would usually...). Do whatever comes to mind or nothing at all.

Now:
Nothing else to do, so can play piano as long as I want whenever I want.

Q: Which do you prefer, the white or the black keys?

Describe your ideal day.

Waking up next to a beautiful girl (wife or girlfriend it doesn't matter), take the slide or fire pole downstairs to eat some breakfast, then go practice for a couple hours, then go to the basement to warm up skating the mini ramp.

Then I call my friends and see who's up for skating street today.  Leave the house and meet the crew at mu local skatepark.  Then we take the train downtoen and skate there for a bit.  Get some good footy in and give my camera to my friend so he can edit and post what we got on facebook.

I get home around six, and wife comes home from orchestra rehearsal.  Eat Some dinner and then go practice Rachmaninoff Cello sonata for a couple hours with my wife (she's a cellist).  then I play a bit more till she goes to sleep.  Then I play for like another 15 minutes and go to bed while it's raining outside.

I prefer no keys.

What's the best thing someone has said on piano street?

I only do it so I don't feel bad if it closes in the other persons face.

I also hate it how the person is just the right distance behind you, so you don't know whether or not to open the door for them.

Because if you don't open it, then that'll make you look inconsiderate.

But if you do, then you have to wait for that person to walk through the door, and if the wait is too long, then it's ackward and you look like a try hard.

Its my favourite cow, and I do not wish it's milk to be sold elsewhere - ever. And because the cow is happier with an official owner... ...its also a traditionalist and doesn't want to make calf's without an in writing contract of ownership..

My piano is rented.

EDIT: And since when/if I do buy one, it'll be owned by my company not me personally I think my partner would have a hard time arguing that the piano should go (not in the best interest of the business) even if she did secure a percentage of my company.

She'd be far more concerned about who gets our dog anyway.

Its a used yamaha U3. Built in the 70's, still in very good condition. Purchase price is about $6K, though I could probably bargain down a bit..  rental is $131/month..

I havent had it very long either, and its one of those "so many months of rent off the purchase price" ..ideal way to properly try the instrument..  though, $6K seems a little high for a U3 that age, there's a lot of them going for 4 to 4.5 but they would all need a bit of work for me to be happy with them. - I played quite a number of them before settling on renting this one.

After you have rented for a while can you purchase it at lower price? I'm just thinking if you get attached to the piano and want to keep it forever, that would become quite expensive...

Q:  If you could sail your own sea-worthy sailboat around the world, taking a solo journey for 2 years, and everything in your life now would be waiting for you and be exactly as is when you got back (should you still want it), would you take the trip?

A couple of conditions:  You can know you will survive.  You would know how to sail.

Q: This question is for right handed people. If one of your arms were to be somehow inevitably doomed to be cut off, would you save the left arm to still be able to play left hand piano repertoire? (as the capabilities of the right hand alone on the piano are much less than those of the left, both technically and musically...as I recall from reading something about Godowsky)

NOT THE LEFT HAND! Yes, I use my left arm to play the piano currently.  No, it wouldn't bother me if my right arm were taken - I only use it to write so I now have a great excuse to learn to use my LH to write with.
