Ask The Next Person Anything
on: August 28, 2012, 12:08:23 AM
I was thinking of starting these threads as well. So... I'll start. Question: Steinway or Fazioli?
Bach Prelude and Fugue BWV848
Beethoven Piano Sonata Op.13
Chopin Etude Op.10 No.4
Chopin Scherzo Op.31
Mussorgsky "The Great Gate of Kiev" from Pictures at an Exhibition

If it's between his early and late, definitely his early works, which I personally do not consider as Chopinesque as many do, but I actually really like what I've heard from around op. 20-50, the mid stuff. It's the most unique, I think.

Favorite Brahms piece other than the rhapsodies op. 79 (cause that's what just about everyone says)?

That's the reason why you're my least favorite concert pianist.

You insist that you're not a professional, and you haven't posted any of your recordings so I haven't heard you play before!

It's a pun, but a really good one, because it works on both levels, whereas the crappy puns most people use only work on the "pun" level. I'm really clever, but you set yourself up for it really well.

Ahhhhhh okay. I was thinking you were making a joke about "People watch the watchmen" vs "The people watch the watchmen". I'm not sure if there's a better word than populus for the population of a place, and there are no articles in Latin, so it's hard to distinguish between "people in general" and "the People (tm)".

That's a funny joke though. Tree jokes, absolutely hilarious :P
