Nope. I have one contact for my right eye, but my left eye is fine. I've been considering getting a real monocle. I think that'd be kinda awesome.

What would you do if it were your last day at work?

Spend the whole day cleaning my computer of...well stuff that is not related to work  ;D

If you could choose to be of any age, would you change yours?

Nah, I'd choose to be born again, but with the same knowledge I have now (I'm assuming when you switch age, you don't complete change your mind and memory?). Reason? In addition to a longer lifespan, I'd be one freaking smart kid. I mean, I already was ;D Imagine if I were as smart and knew as much when I was born as I am at 18...I'd be a frickin prodigy. And I'm not anything special as pianist for an 18 year old, but for a little kid...man.

If you could instantly gain the technical ability to play anything on the piano without any hard work, would you do it? As in, supernatural ability. You'd be able to sightread even the most difficult pieces ever written.

Keep in mind, this would not increase your musical ability in any way.

This is a no brainer, of course I would!

Drums. Piano appeals to the soul, drums appeal to the body. People always make jokes about me since I'm a drummer, like, "Uh, you just things." Which, I guess, technically, is true, but that doesn't explain why everyone, no matter their musical ability or interest, likes to hit on my drums. I think drums are the same thing with singing--it's such a basic, fundamental part of being human. I mean, anyone can sing. Not anyone can sing well, but anyone can get a sound out of it and, at least to their own ears, sound pretty good. Same thing with drums. Someone who doesn't play drums can sit at a drum kit and hit stuff and think they're pretty good. They're not, but the feeling is amazing. I really can't describe it. Piano is amazing too, but in a much less primal kind of way.

No, you would be a normal Australian. So your voice would have the same accent.

Rain!

I don't like after the rain, when it's not raining but it's still really wet, but I like it while it's raining, especially if it's pouring.

Rain!

Wow! I always thought I'm the ONLY one who doesn't like the sun much...although it might get a bit chilly up here if it decided to jump to another galaxy...

vim or emacs?

Had to google... It must be 20 years since I had to do anything related to unix. I'll say emacs...sounds better :)

If you could choose, would the cell phone have been invented?

What's the saltiest moment of your life?

A: When I was ~12, my school was preparing to put on its bi-annual major musical production. For our year it was to be "Joseph and his amazing technicolor dream coat".

 - I was really keen to play Joseph, and because I was musically inclined already I thought I had a good shot. Then, after auditions, most of my fellow students also believed I'd probably get the part, leading me to be very confident. PLUS, my middle name is Joseph.

My best friend got the part, apparently by a significant margin.

beat me again!

Shaken.

I don't know what my happiest moment of my life was.  So I'll just share my most recent.  Like three weeks ago.

I was playing a game of S.K.A.T.E with someone. It's just like H.O.R.S.E when you're playing basketball, except you spell skate.

So anyways, I had T and he had nothing right?  And the guy who I was playing against did a 540 flip to finish me off.  Since it's my last trick, I get two tries to land it.  I initially felt pretty salty because I was trying to learn that trick and this guy lands it in front of me first try!

The first try, I didn't even get close.

Second try I actually landed it!  Bolts!  Perfect!  That was my first time landing a 540 flip and that was clutch!  Swag in the freaking bag!  And on top of that, I actually beat him!

Like, it couldn't be any better than that!  I learned a new trick DURING a game of skate CLUTCH and came back to beat him!

How many years of your life would you give to play your favorite work?

One person shoots a basketball from a certain spot. If they make it, you shoot a basketball from the same spot. If you make it, no letters, if you miss, you get an H. Then you pick a spot to shoot from. Keep going till someone spells horse and loses. SKATE, I imagine ,is the same, except doing skateboarding tricks instead of basketball shots.

How many years of your life would you give to play your favorite work?

Well, I don't really have to give any years...I just keep playing piano and eventually I'll be able to play all my favorite pieces. But if I weren't enjoying the process of playing pieces easier than my favorite piece, I'd quit tomorrow. It wouldn't be worth it.

Edit: Forgot a question.

I don't listen to either, but Kanye West actually uses music that's not made from a computer in his songs.  So there's actually a tad bit of emotion in there.

That's probably true for me too, ..but if I had to listen to too much Kanye I'd quietly go insane - and it'd be nothing to do with his personality.

I usually don't like pop music, but Kanye's MBDTF is a masterpiece. Okay, maybe that's a stretch, but it's pretty great. To each his own though.

Hmmm... Do we actually know how he was as a person? History is selective and people have sceletons in their closets...Or are you referring to some other Bach that you know personally?

I couldn't care less how much a jerk someone was if the music is good. At least when they are dead :)

True, but it's kind of funky and there are real instruments...could be worse you know...
