Stray notes in Mozart
on: September 11, 2012, 10:54:55 PM
Hi, I'm learning a lot of Mozart right now, and after I learned the notes and make it sound like high-quality Mozart, there's always one or two stray notes somewhere random. Someone help me! Am I the only one that makes mistakes in Mozart? Is there a certain way I should practice the Mozart Piano Sonatas???
Bach Prelude and Fugue BWV848
Beethoven Piano Sonata Op.13
Chopin Etude Op.10 No.4
Chopin Scherzo Op.31
Mussorgsky "The Great Gate of Kiev" from Pictures at an Exhibition

Yes: ruffled cuffs and full powdered wig.  ;D

There is nothing special about Mozart in regard to stray notes (though they do tend to stand out more).  You will find a useful discussion here:

You better fix those straight notes!

Because if you play a stray note with any other computer, you can get away with it.

But if you hit ONE stray note with Mozart, you'll completely derail the piece!  It's a disaster dude...

I'd fix the stray ones, rather than the straight ones. And you shouldn't be playing with a compurter anyway.  :P

This doesn't help at all. Either help or don't post  >:(:P. By the way, it's not like I performed the Mozart stuff and made mistakes, I'm still practicing them.

Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
