Debussy, Prelude from Suite Bergamasque
on: October 04, 2012, 11:19:58 AM
Hi guys,
Another piece for my exam in about a month. A few little mistakes but its the best i could record after about 5-6 takes.
Please let me know what you think about it. Any comments/suggestions/critiques are welcome:)
Thanks.

You have captured the kind of urgent rapture which this prelude seems to possess -All you need to do is work on your interpretation a bit more -Try and get far more dynamic contrast -make the soft stand out -not only by perhaps using the soft pedal -but creating more melting warmth into those passages which are lilting and delicate -emphasise the cadences a little more also -
You have a good technique -all you need now is to refine this prelude -make it a musical journey by paying more attention to Debussy's dynamic guidelines -

thanks for taking the time to comment
yeah i think dynamics are what needs to be worked on most. would help if i had bigger hands and didn't have to roll the chords haha, that would help getting it softer i think
thanks again:)
