What happened to the89thkey? he went from making like 40 post per day to a complete ghost , guess he got really mad and locked himself to practice the Tchaikovsky.
I started learning it at 10.00am this morning and the orchestra turns up at noon for the first performance. Hopefully, everything will go OK.No doubt some technical glitch will mean I will be unable to post a recording and my loss of memory means I cannot tell you who the conductor is.Start work on the Sorabji 5 tomorrow which should keep me busy until lunch.Thal
I was thinking maybe Rachmaninoff's Paganini variations or Liszt's Totentanz, what do you guys think? (why not both!)
I know it is an unkind thing to say, but my bullshitometer is beginning to twitch.Perhaps I am completely wrong, but have we not been here before many times???Thal
I'm sorry to interrupt this continuous bashing on the OP, but you have a bullshitometer??? I've been looking for one for years! Could you tell me where you got it?
I just sight read everything immediately at performance level no matter what difficulty, who needs practice?
Pff, I can learn pieces in less than the time it takes to perform them.
How? I want to know...And yes, I realize that is a joke.
Instantaneous memorization?
Not bad, but not as good as my Telepathic Memorization, I can learn a piece while a composer is thinking on it before writing it.PS I'm writing a book about my method, it will cost 899.99 dlls, I guarantee you won't be let down
Well I don't want to brag or anything... but I can do even better than that!
Hah, littletune! You think that's special?? I just transcribed all 24 Chopin Etudes for castanets, just after I arranged (and memorized) all 32 Beethoven Sonatas for P.D.Q. Bach's Left-handed Sewerpipe!!!(Not bragging either, but facts ARE facts.)
I think this thread is getting just SLIGHLY absurd, could I ask we stay on the original hoping of my Tchaikovsky please???
I'm not sure I would agree about this. I have always felt that the number of hours that one can practise can be increased over a period of time. That is, and certainly in my case, it is possible to build up concentration and focus over a period of time. My regular practice used to be around 5 hours which I always increased to 6 or 7 for an exam or performance. I used to do around 1 hour on each piece or each movement of a piece. I believe that mental stamina can be increased in a similar way as physical stamina. I've never practised for 8 hours but in my youth I most certainly would have if the workload had been great enough. Having a performance as a goal is a great way to increase mental focus!!!
Well, that's rather impressive, but (not wanting to brag of course) I can whistle all the Bach fugues.
I sprained my tongue on a five part one once. I'm impressed.
if you started with 5 hours theres already a problem....
You need to concentrate on your lips, using too much tongue is not what will get you there...keep practicing!
Do you mind if I post this statement here?https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php?topic=48428.0
If you don't even bother to tell us who you are, and post videos, why do you bother to make this thread? It's like "Now, I will make 1 billion push-ups, with a fat guy on my back.... now I've done 200 000.. but I wont prove it!!" And to call yourself a concert pianist, I find it strange that you don't tell us who you are. At least half, probably even more, of becoming a concert pianist is promotion, and you haven't really done that at all, on a board filled with pianists! And since you claim you can learn the Tchaikovsky in sort of a week, you should be a rather good pianist. Smells troll all over.
Just because I am a pianist who needs certain levels of publicity DOESNT MEAN that I go around spewing off information about myself in anonymous online forums. Get that into your head...
Do you want a ... cookie?
What about J Menz?!?!?!?He's a concert pianist but hasn't posted any videos!
But he isn't... Or is he?
He is, but he says he's not.Like I'm legit not joking. I don't know why he won't admit it. We're not gonna freaking flame him or anything. I really don't know what's going on in his mind.
Really? This is the most confusing thing I have seen in a while. Is j_menz a concert pianist, and why won't he admit it if he is? It's really confusing, as you seem to be the only one who thinks j_menz is professional.
For the one billionth and first time, I am not a concert pianist. Never have been, never will be. Apart from my work as a church pianist (quite some time ago), I have given two "concert" performances in my entire life, both for my college and neither in a starring role. On the video front, there will shortly be two for the PS Competition - just finishing them now. They should, if nothing else, remove all doubt.
I believe you. You seem trustworthy.
good - 1evil - 0
What does this mean?
It's okay, we're on the good side. If you don't understand now, you will understand later.
I see a quite fitting contrast.j_menz = ultimate modestythe89thkey = painfully leaky hubris (although it may be ambiguous, one can see it even in his username)Vishnu, r_4 is joking. j_menz isn't actually a concert pianist; r_4 just likes to poke at him. j_menz has made a wealthy contribution to this forum, which could lead one to think that he is a professional.

Incidentally, I keep forgetting that perpocrastinate is like my age.
I'm not freaking *** joking!!!I'm freaking serious!!! I'm not freaking *** joking!!!I'm freaking serious!!!
Does he too like to make up fictitious dialogues and use annoying walls of ?
