Listz Consolation IV...help please
on: February 17, 2013, 05:38:39 PM
Hi

have just started Listz's Consolation IV and cant undertand the way the incidentals are written in the 10th bar before the end of the piece...a flat sign followed by a natural...? Im not sure what it means and cant see how it cancels out anything from a previous bar. Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks  :)

The accidentals relate to different notes on the two chords in question.

So, first chord is G Bb Db E (natural)  (The Dd is notated because normally you don't have a Db if you have an E natural, so is a coutesy accidental)

In the second chord it's Cb D (natural) F.
