A Jazz Piano Christmas 2025 – But not at the Kennedy Center

For more than three decades, “A Jazz Piano Christmas” at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. has been a quiet highlight of the holiday season for jazz and piano lovers. No fixed formulas, no “seasonal jazz” clichés — just strong pianistic voices working with familiar material. This year, the live concert is on pause. Here’s what changed, and where pianists can still turn for meaningful jazz piano Christmas listening and playing. Read more

Magnificent! Bravo!  :D

You lose points for the "Bachbuz", though; and I don't even pretend to understand "true (FO DA ZEPP)"  ::)

Da Zepp is the online alter-ego if a friend of mine. Bachbuz is Newspeak for Bach-Busoni

Very fine playing. I often find performances of this work to be somewhat tasteless, with too much 'rubato' and pedal.

Your performance avoided these common pitfalls. Instead you showed us a wonderful ability to understand and maintain the rhythm throughout. There was also some beautiful voicing.

I think dasdc is a bit like Elvis and Osama. Some people seem to still think it's alive, but it has actually been as dead as a door-nail for quite some time.

Thank you for this epic contribution!

hehe, I am glad that this is a hit 8)

Actually, I've been criticized for playing this with a big sound and bombastic style. I think Busoni had an organ sonority in mind, it shouldn't be tamed!
