Schubert/Liszt "Auf dem Wasser zu singen - Barcarolle" VIDEO
on: December 30, 2013, 03:30:13 PM
A recording I made for my father, who loves Schubert a lot, for his 75th birthday. Any advice is welcome

Good job and nice tempo.
As for advice, I would say it could be more 'flowing' as if you were singing on the water
.
Jorge Bolet does a wonderful thing with this piece, you should check it out.
I bet your father was very happy with this.
Kind regards,
Carl

Thank you, Carl.
I listened to Bolet's interpretation and I agree that it has a beautiful singing quality, although he plays it much slower than the recordings of the actual Schubert song (with singer, I mean) that I heard. A nice one that I listened to while I was practicing this piece is the one by Ian Bostridge and Julius Drake (
).
Well, I will go back to work some more on this piece
Best,
Thomas
