Now originally I was going to make this lame website to post this up except my computer is mental and didn’t seem to like that idea. So you can just click on the links below instead.
So what am I talking about, well I’ve taken some photos of all the paintings I’ve done this semester (and they’re quite dodgy cos I can’t use a digital camera and don’t know how to get rid of the flash) and I would like you to have a look at them and tell me which one you like the best and which you like the least, as well as possibly just some other comments where you think I could improve or techniques that I should continue with. Unlike some artists I like to produce works that appeal to the audience so the opinions of as many people as possible is very important to me and will help me decide what I’m going to focus on next year- at the moment it’s moving towards attempting some kind of synthesis between music, dance and maths.
So any comments you have will be very useful even if you say that it completely sucks! Thanks heaps all of you, I appreciate you taking the time to help me
So here are the paintings, just click on the links and hopefully they will take you to each painting
Please note that the colours are a lot brighter in real life so excuse the dullness
Oh and if you want to buy any of them or commission something then feel free to!
Still Life
Oils on canvas, 60x75cm

Acrylics on canvas, can’t remember the size, it’s something like 40x50cm
The ballet shoe is sitting on a blanket on top of my piano stool just so you know
Please ignore the giant flash reflection!

Oils on canvas, both are 30x40cm (I think)
Based on a photo of Leise that was Photoshopped. These two works are meant to works as a diptych, the second one is a closeup section of the first using opposite colours
I don’t know why this one looks so dull

Acrylics on canvas and some crazy tape on the piano, 60x90cm
This went through a lot of changes (it literally changed every week!) and eventually resulted to this from an ‘I want to kill my piano’ mood!

Acrylics on canvas, 60x90cm
Inspired by the backgrounds from last years body of work and Ross Edward’s ‘Maninya’s’ (I’d be very impressed if any of you actually know what I’m talking about- he’s a composer)

Oils on canvas, 75x75cm
Based on 3D Trig!

Oils, acrylics on canvas, mixed with various texture gels and materials, 2 smaller canvas’s are stuck on, house paint poured over, translucent material and ribbon freely hanging from the top, flowers stuck on, 60x70cm
You really need to see this one in real life to get the full effect cos it’s all 3d and the materials floating around etc.

Acrylics on canvas, 75x75cm
Please excuse the flash again. Based on the story of Giselle. I love the reaction to this work where people are like oh how cute she has wings and then I’m like she’s dead and they’re like oh…
