The piece has received quite a lot of interpretation and rework by various composers over the years. It is, of course, part of a standard Requiem but has provided inspiration elsewhere too.
Alkan uses it as part of his
La Mort from his Op 15
Trois Morceaux dans le genre Pathetique.
The most extensive treatment of it is probably Sorabji's
Sequentia Cyclica Super Dies Irae.
