Which Mozart sonata?
on: August 08, 2014, 08:43:24 PM
I've switched piano teachers from one who dictated which pieces I should play to one who wants me to select my own pieces.

I find in listening to recordings of myself playing that my sense of "beat" is lacking. I also love Mozart.

I'm wondering which of the Mozart sonatas who be could for me to study?

Thanks!

Definitely helps to know a bit of your repertoire. We can't suggest anything if we don't know how good you are.

If this is your FIRST Mozart Sonata, you can't go wrong with K545...
WIP:
Bach WTC Fugue 2
Chopin 17/4
          32/1
          70/2

I'm doing K570 right now and it is a blast. If you want to work on feeling your beat - the third movement is a rondo (or at least it seems rondo-like) that really makes you feel the beat with the staccatos and accents.
