Learning Chopin's Etudes
on: July 31, 2015, 04:05:49 AM
I just mastered 25/7 and the B.130 Etude and now working on 10/5 and 10/8. I'm struggling on the right hand on both etudes because of the really fast tempo (174 (116) BPM for 10/5 and 176 (88) for 10/8). Any tips?

And don't tell me to play slower. I have tried that.
I made an account and hadn't used it in a year. Welcome back, kevon.

Hi, I am not sure how many comments you will get for this but I will give it a shot.

Firstly I can play 10/5, I'm not as familiar with 10/8, but I imagine some rules still apply to both.

Your comment with regards to playing slower seems a little vague and to an extent anti-productive.
Let's concentrate on 10/5 as that's what I know. Are you able to play this piece at even half speed?

When you say "you have tried that" I am not sure what you really mean by this? It took weeks for me to get up to speed certainly accurately. Are there any particular bars you're struggling with? What fingering are you using for the first run of notes?
