Been watching you play for years...  :)   the academy of st. martin in the fields...wow...now that's a high class gig...  but then you are a high class player.   I am just a lowly cocktail pianist..  *sigh*.  Damn but you are good.  ;D

hi Ariel,

I am often in awe at how well you bring out the music, the melodic line!
I just wish that someday you and Enzo will have the opportunity
to meet and exchange experiences on what you both love most.

hi DC,

I don't know why, but instantly what you said made me remember
what Jose Rizal wrote before he was executed for "crimes against Spain":

The place (of one's death) does not matter:
cypress laurel, lily white,
Scaffold, open field, conflict or martyrdom's site,
It is the same if for country and home.

It does not really matter where one plays the piano
as long as it is for a higher purpose ... like the audience's enjoyment,
whether it be in church, in a cocktail lounge or in Carnegie Hall.  ;D :)

wow...that's beautiful, thank you so much..

:) I am very blessed to play and even more blessed that people will pay to listen to me... I have been a professional pianist for 20 years.   I started out with those same aspirations so long ago... and these kids amaze me, really.   I was meant to be a jazz pianist there is no doubt about that...but for so long my entire focus was to be a concert pianist and play the Hungarian Rhapsody 2 at Carnegie Hall--(I was a huge Bugs Bunny fan..lol)

...and I guess I should add that as I was writing this post I booked another solo piano Christmas party gig... kind of poetic considering your post. These people have a gorgeous concert grand in their living room, too.  Your son Enzo is also an amazing pianist... I enjoy his playing so much...like I said...these kids amaze me.

it's going to be a good season!

Thank you for the kind words.
That's some quotation, there, Emill. Requires a double-take before it sinks in.
I don't doubt it that Enzo and I will meet at some point. Is there anyone in Manila who plays at his level? Please, say hello to him!
Ariel
