My opinion is that they are all masterpieces, one of the greatest series of works ever written. And some of the really amazing ones get neglected. #10, #14, #5, #16, #17, #8, #19 are my favorites at the moment. You really can't rank Chopin's nocturnes in terms of difficulty.

By the way, I know #s 14 and 5. I will upload them within the next month or two.

They're lovely miniatures. That said, I find the early set to be rather shallow in comparison to the mid and later set; compare Op. 15 to Op. 48 or 55, for example. Or even just Op. 32.
Also, this is a somewhat controversial opinion, but I think the nocturnes he left unpublished should've stayed that way.

They're mostly overplayed amateurish works, specifically the 20th in C sharp minor. The C minor posthumous isn't too bad but they're really not great and the amount of praise they get really bastardizes the works to a point where I can't stand them. Similar deal with FI.

Yes, #20 gets more praise than it should, but it really is a nice melody. I think if AJ came up with it, we wouldn't want it to remain "unpublished" ;)

If AJ came up with it, I'd have the same criticism of it that I have of much of his recording/stuff; overly romantic where it doesn't need to be, and somewhat unoriginal.
Don't get me wrong though, I love AJ's playing. It just feels like it's a synthesis of recordings and little of his own interpretation.
