Hello everyone!

I am looking for Alfred Cortot's edition of Chopin's Andante Spianato and Grand Polonaise op. 22. I alrealdy searched for it in local libraries, but I can't find it. As I have to prepare this work in about 1 month, I have no time to order it from abroad.

Could please someone have the kindness of scanning it and send it to me?

Gratefully,

Ana

Why specifically a Cortot edition?

Also I'm not sure I've personally heard of a Cortot edition.. Where can I see a link to this online?

Are you sure Cortot edited this work?

This edition is good: https://www.amazon.com/Grande-Polonaise-flat-major-Op/dp/1480390844

Yes, Cortot was one editor for this work. You can confirm this by quickly checking IMLSLP.org. It is not public domain in either Europe or the United States.  A quick Internet search will provide details for purchase and the publisher.  For pete’s sake!

Thank you all for your answers!

Well, I am learning the piece through Schirmer's edition. Although, I always like to take a look in Cortot's editions because they are very helpfull in technical and interpretative issues - at least to me.

I confess I am not 100% sure he edited this piece, but once he edited the all polonaises, I supposed he edited this one too...

@easynow, do you have that edition in digital format?

I don't unfortunately. It's very hard to find copies of quality editions like that online. I agree the Cortot editions on imslp are wonderful.

Another option is the Henle library - their digital scores. I don't know how they differ price-wise from the books. It's extremely useful though, because you can compare editorial markings (fingerings, pedaling, etc.) within the app instantly.

I actually searched around the internet and personally couldn't find any suggestions that Cortot did infact edit this piece!

I know he was an editor of a variety of Chopin pieces. I'm happy to scan in the version I have, which includes the orchestral introduction transcribed for piano (the part usually played by strings introducing the polonaise itself) but if you're only particularly interested in comments on the piece, i'm not sure if it's any use!

Here's some background story on the work that may help with your performance

@easynow I already have Henle's edition, thank you!

@adodd81802 Yes, that's the one I am playing - the piano solo version. Thank you very much for your help!
