I am working through the Scarlatti sonata K380 and amazed by the various approaches to the trills and even the playing of the first 8 bars and any input would be appreciated. Firstly which hand? Whilst most use the right for first 4 bars and left for second 4 bars there are quite a few even from famous pianists who use the right hand throughout with the left moving across to play the trill in bars 6 and 8 but actually only one note not the trill. There are also some who use two hands to play the sections rather than play with one hand. Then there is the fingering of the trill itself which varies hugely. I realise it is up to me in the end but the different approaches must certainly give a different sound and be easier or harder to achieve. If this post means anything to anyone and is not too confusing your opinion would be gratefully received.
