Counterpoint

Hello friends, it's been a while. Life's a trip.

Just wanted to share a new work with you all. This is written for the electric piano. I decided to further explore the art of counterpoint. Enjoy...

I am unsure whether or not you consciously do it, but what distinguishes your contrapuntal playing is its complete lack of the annoying, homogeneous clockwork effect I hear so often. It seems to me the source of interest lies in your accents and phrases, which continually challenge whatever underlying metre might exist. A certain amount of metre is probably there but I can enjoy the illusion that it is absent altogether, a reaction I find next to impossible with most baroque driven improvisers. I have listened a few times and my only quibble is that it is too short. I could also have taken much more harmony like the chord at 3:30, which really hit my ear.

Good to see you posting again.

Very enjoyable for me to hear.  Well done.  Nice electric piano sound.
