Hello,

I recently played a concert in Vancouver, BC. I have the full recital recorded, and would like some opinions.

My program:

Beethoven - Sonata in E major, Op. 109 (complete)
Chopin - 12 Etudes, op.10
Tchaikovsky - Russian Scherzo, op.1 and "October" from the Seasons.
Rachmaninoff - Piano Sonata no.2, op.36(complete)

Below is the link. Please scroll down to the very bottom and click on the "Summer Concert 2 hours version". It omits the intermission and opening comments.

Thanks!
Pieces I'm working on:
Beethoven op. 109
Chopin Etudes op.10
Tchaikovsky Seasons June & October
Tchaikovsky Russian scherzo op. 1 no. 1
Tchaikovsky concerto 1
Mozart K 488
Rachmaninoff sonata 2

Thank you for sharing, your recital sounded incredibly good! I didn't listen to it all, but here are some general thoughts. The Beethoven sonata was great with some beautiful playing. You handled the fugue in the last movement brilliantly! Occasionally it felt just a little flat for me (particularly the second movement). Also, who thinks it's a good idea to clap before the third movement?  >:(.

The Rach sonata sounded very good too. Your performance felt very musical instead of showy which most peformances of this sonata tend to be. I think the last movement was the weakest one though. It was too slow for me which led to it being less exciting, and I also felt that you didn't really do the huge climax in the end justice.

These are all small details though, I did like almost everything about your performance. Good work and keep it up!

I agree. These pieces are all a ways away from being fully mature. I appreciate your comments!
