Original Piano Composition: Spanish Capriccio
on: February 28, 2021, 09:56:13 AM
Hi,

I have posted a piano composition called "Spanish Capriccio" (it is a dynamic piece) if you want to check it out and let me know your opinion.

Thanks.

Nice one! I think you captured a spanish-sounding idiom very well  8)

Nicely done Mozarta! Can certainly imagine this piece to impress the crowd with its fast pace and technicalities. The only critique that I can move is that the ending seemed a bit too abrupt to me: I would have liked some longer development.

I can see you used the Andalusian cadence ;)

I liked the variation at 0:52. I might steal that idea for the future.

Very nice piece, I also liked 0:52 a lot. I know it seems to be variations on one idea, but maybe you could try shaking up the chord progression a little bit. Also your technique at 0:15 is interesting - I don't know if I've ever really seen LH jumps taken with 3 and 4 rather than 5. Not a negative or anything, I just found it unique and thought I'd mention it  :)

You incorporated a lot of Spanish characteristics here.  One thing you could do is to alternate between a contrasting theme.

At 0:27 you might want to work on your RH, as your hand shape is awkward and looks tense.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Thanks for the feedback, with regards to hands positioning: I have an autodidact training so the hand position I use is not academical (only suitable to my playing).
